NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The New Rochelle Board of Education is establishing two new advisory committees and is looking for volunteers to serve on them.
The Climate and Culture Committee, chaired by board member Lianne Merchant, will review the recommendations from the Task Force on Reducing Violence in the Lives of Children and Youth as well as the safety and security assessment conducted by the global firm Guidepost Solutions.
The Finance and Facilities Committee, chaired by board Vice President Amy Moselhi, will make recommendations on the budgeting process by examining facilities, capital improvements, individual line items in the budget and reserve funds.
“These two committees will foster greater engagement from community members on key issues that are of major importance to District residents,” said Board President Jeffrey Hastie. “We know that New Rochelle community members include top professionals and experts in many fields. That expertise will be invaluable to the District and the city as we move forward.”
To apply for membership on one of the committees, email both Hastie and Moselhi – jhastie@nredlearn.org and amoselhi@nredlearn.org – by August 31. Learn more about the committees on the District’s website, www.nred.org.
