Library Offers Free Worskshops for Job Searchers

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — “Tips, Tools & Techniques for Job Search Success” is a series of free monthly workshops provided by the New Rochelle Public Library.  NRPL’s Job Readiness Coach, Rebecca Mazin, will be giving concrete advice and guidance to those seeking new or improved employment.  The first session, “Pick Two; Targeting Your Online Job Search,” will take place on Saturday, September 15th, from 3:00 – 4:30 pm, in the library’s first floor Meeting Room. In this session, Ms. Mazin will take participants through an actual job search, using employment-related sites on the Internet. She will discuss the pros and cons associated with each site and provide tips on how to craft responses to job offerings.

On Monday, October 15, from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm, the topic will be “Networking and Job Search: 

Linked-In, Facebook, and In-Person.” On Saturday, November 17, from 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm, Ms. Mazin

will help participants write “Cover Letters That Get Results.” On Monday, December 3, from 6:00 pm 

– 7:30 pm, the workshop will be “Tell Me About Yourself: Preparing for a Job Interview.”

Ms. Mazin brings a business perspective to the job search process with 20+ years in corporate human resources and as a consultant. She has shared her knowledge with 1,000+ participants in Westchester libraries. These workshops are in addition to the drop-in sessions Ms. Mazin provides each Tuesday in the New Rochelle Public Library, from 3:45 pm – 7:45 pm, in the second floor Help & Learning Center.
