NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The residency verification initiative in the City School District of New Rochelle is moving forward. Almost all of the more than 700 incoming New Rochelle High School ninth graders have been processed.
Next up: Incoming New Rochelle High School eleventh graders. Their families will receive letters in the mail within days inviting them to a residency verification site in the library in NRHS House 1, where they can provide updated or current information to affirm their residency in the District. The eleventh grade verification process will begin Sept. 12 and is scheduled to be completed by the end of the month.
“The residency verification has gone smoothly this summer, and we anticipate moving forward even more expeditiously as we continue,” said Dr. Charles Coletti, Residency Verification Project Manager. “Our registrars work diligently to support families in establishing residency and updating information.”
Letters sent to families suggest times they can visit the residency verification locations. Families may also submit the information via email, traditional mail or in drop-boxes that are being placed in the District’s Facilities Department, second floor of City Hall, 515 North Ave.; and at the New Rochelle Public Library, 1 Library Plaza. For information on which documents establish residency, and for a Q&A about the process, visit the “Residency Verification” section of the District’s website, www.nred.org.
The process for the entire District is expected to be completed by approximately the end of May, 2019. For more information, contact Dr. Coletti, ccoletti@nredlearn.org or (914) 727-0129.
