NEW ROCHELLE, NY –The Rocky Middleton Sextet will offer up terrific jazz on Sunday, November 4th, from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm in the Ossie Davis Theater of the New Rochelle Public Library. Acoustic bass player Rocky Middleton will lead his ensemble of top-flight musicians.
A New Rochelle resident and native of Mount Vernon, Rocky Middleton has performed around the world and with well-known musicians such as Frank Foster, Charlie Persip, Alvin Queen, Tommy Turrentine, Walter Perkins, Bucky Pizzarelli, and many more. He was self-taught before he began to hone his skills, studying at the Jazz Mobile workshop in Harlem, and with greats such as Richard Davis, Lyle Atkinson, Jimmy Heath, Clifford Jordan, and Norman Simmons.
A donation of $2.00 is suggested at the door. This program is made possible by the Friends of the New Rochelle Public Library.
