NEW ROCHELLE, NY — “Park Bench Stories,” an exhibit of a stunning art quilts by Leni Wiener, will be on view in the Lumen Winter Gallery of the New Rochelle Public Library from November 8th through November 29th. The figurative fabric collage quilts are works that represent people who have come to sit on a park bench at some point during a day, a week, or longer. The people have been removed from their environment, even the bench itself is left to the imagination of the viewer. Viewers will imagine their own stories about each figure. Who are they? Where are they? What are they doing? The answer may not be the same for everyone who sees the exhibition, so each viewer will bring a little bit of their own life experience to the stories the artworks tell. The exhibit is open to the public during the library’s hours of operation. A reception will be held on Sunday, November 25th from 5:15 pm – 6:30 pm.
