NEW YORK, NY —  AJC Westchester/Fairfield will be honoring Westchester attorney David Worby, Senior Founding Partner, Worby Vecchio & Edelman and Stamford attorney Michael J. Cacace, Founding Partner, Cacace Tusch & Santagata.

We are pleased to announce that U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal will be the Honorary Tribute Chair for this year’s Award Dinner.

Both of these respected attorneys will receive the AJC Westchester Fairfield Judge Learned Hand Award for their outstanding work in the legal field as well as for their philanthropy and highly valued community service.  This is the eighth year that AJC Westchester/Fairfield will be presenting the award, which is the organization’s most prestigious recognition of excellence bestowed upon members of the legal profession.  It will take place at the Ritz Carlton New York, Westchester in White Plains on Tuesday, December 4h from 6:00-9:00pm.  Limited press passes are available.

Last year’s Judge Learned Hand Award honorees, William P. Harrington of Bleakley Platt & Schmidt, LLP and Stanley A. Twardy, Jr, of Day Pitney LLP will present the awards.  Ellen Jancko-Baken and Scott Baken, Dinner Co-Committee Co-Chairs, will preside over the evening.

AJC established the Learned Hand Award in 1964 to cite leaders in the legal profession for excellence and for their contributions to the legal community.  The recipients of this award are people who embody much of what the Judge represented: the rights of the individual and the importance of democratic values in an orderly society.  This philosophy also sums up a major thrust of the American Jewish Committee’s work and the programs it has promoted since its inception in 1906.

Nearly 150 guests, including judges, officials and diplomats are expected to pay tribute to the honorees at the dinner which will feature a mock Moot Court debate on Executive Power and DACA: Execution or Excess?  Oral Advocates include David Katona, Esq, of Katona & Mir LLP and Marc Stern, AJC General Counsel.   The honorees, Mr. Worby and Mr. Cacace, will act as the judges for the debate.
