NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Students from both City School District of New Rochelle middle schools were praised for their intelligence, honesty and heart after impressing the crew of NBC’s TODAY Show during a segment on peer pressures and the impact of judging less and accepting more.

During the segment – entitled #NoJudgementTODAY – the five students were interviewed by TODAY’s Bobbie Thomas. Eigth graders Aurelie Maurice and Marcia Garcia represented Isaac E. Young, while Thomas “Noah” Annarone, Daasabre “Daas” Ohene Clement McPhee-Djan and Emma Farley – sixth, seventh and eighth graders respectively – represented Albert Leonard.

Meeting for the first time shortly before the taping, which took place at Albert Leonard on Dec. 3, the students struck up such a lively and comfortable rapport, it was all but impossible to tell they came from two different schools. Following the interview, they were all dancing in the hallways together.

The segment aired on the Dec. 7. You can watch it here.
