NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A New Rochelle holiday tradition returns tomorrow – Saturday, December 15 – with the “Season of Light” show at the New Rochelle High School planetarium.
The culturally inclusive show explores the astronomical meanings behind seasonal traditions such as the “Star of Bethlehem.”
“The show explains how different cultures and religions light up the darkest part of the year,” said planetarium director Bruce Zeller.
The show, a holiday season favorite in the community, has been presented in one form or another since about 1970. It is free and open to the public.
“Season of Light” will be presented this year on the following schedule:
* Saturday, Dec. 15, 5 p.m.
* Monday, Dec. 17, 7 p.m.
* Wednesday, Dec. 19, 7 p.m.
Doors open 15 minutes prior to the start of each show. Attendees are asked to be prompt; there will be no admission once the show has begun.
The High School planetarium is located at Flandreau and Argyle avenues.
