NEW ROCHELLE, NY — New Rochelle Police and Firefighters are on scene at Burling Lane and North Avenue near the New Rochelle train station where a man has climbed onto a utility bridge and is threatening to jump onto the New England Thruway.

I-95, the busiest highway in the United States is shut down in both directions.

North Avenue in New Rochelle is shut down Southbound at Lockwood Avenue.

Passengers arriving at the New Rochelle Metro-North and Amtrak stop are being re-routed to the opposite side of the train station.

The NRPD Police Negotiator is on scene. Yonkers FD is enroute with a jump bed. An ambulance has been pre-positioned on I-95 as a precaution.
