New Rochelle Comes to Resolution on PBA Contract

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The City of New Rochelle and the New Rochelle Policeman’s Benevolent Association have come to terms on a successor agreement to the 2013 contract set to expire on December 31, 2019.

The agreement calls for across the board increases for PBA members: 1.75% effective January 1, 2020, the same in 2021, then 2% in 2022 and 2023 and 3% in 2024, 2025 and 2026. Other terms include increases in longevity pay, increase in leave days to attend union events and increase in sick days.

The agreement was adopted by the New Rochelle City Council Regular Legislative Meeting, Tuesday, on September 17.

“We are very pleased to have reached this long term agreement which we believe to be a fair agreement for both the PBA and the City,” said City Manager Charles B. Strome.

The agreement was negotiated between PBA President Christopher Greco and the City’s outside counsel Vincent Toomey and recommended for approval to City Council by Christine Dodge, the recently appointed Commissioner of Human Resources

Dodge was appointed by City Manager Charles B. Strome on October 1, 2018, to her current position, Before joining the City of New Rochelle, Ms. Dodge was the Deputy Commissioner of Human Resources for the City of Yonkers.

The MOU was signed by Christopher Greco, for the PBA, and Charles B, Strome, Vincent Toomey and Christine Dodge for the City of New Rochelle.
