NEW ROCHELLE, NY — New Rochelle Police are investigating two shooting incidents which occurred an hour apart on Saturday night into early Sunday morning. One man was shot in the leg as he fled 3 attackers.
On September 28th at 11:48 p.m., New Rochelle Police Officers responded to 361 Main Street on a report of shots fired. Upon arrival Officers discovered 3 spent 9 mm shell casings and a bullet impact on the maintenance doors to 361 Main Street. Detectives are conducting a follow-up investigation.
An hour later, on September 29th at 12:45 a.m., New Rochelle Police Officers responded to a private residence on a report of shots fired. Upon arrival Officers discovered an adult male with a superficial bullet wound to his leg. The victim stated that, while sitting outside, he was approached by 3 unknown males. One suspect struck the victim in the head with a handgun, at which time the victim fled towards the house and heard 1-2 gunshots. Upon reaching the inside of the residence the victim realized that he had been shot. The victim was transported to an area Hospital for treatment. Detectives are conducting a follow-up investigation.
At this time, it is unknown if the two incidents are related.
“As both investigations remain open and active, no further information will be released at this time,” said New Rochelle Police Captain Cosmo Costa.
Find them, arrest them and than throw the book at them! Harsh punishment is needed, make a major example of these dangerous thugs! New Rochelle is not safe! We need to allow our police to come down hard on criminals and those running the city need to stop the liberal mentality!
