Juvenile Arrested for Menacing with Silver Semi-Automatic Hand Gun

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A 17-year-old suspect was charged with multiple crimes involving a handgun in two different jurisdictions. He was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree and Menacing 2nd Degree by New Rochelle Police and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree by Mount Vernon Police.

Due to “Raise the Age” laws, the suspect was charged as a Juvenile Delinquent, and will be adjudicated through Family Court.

On November 9th, at 12:57 p.m., New Rochelle Police Officers responded to the vicinity of Coligni Avenue and Mount Joy Place on a report of a menacing with a handgun. Subsequent investigation revealed that a Silver Semi-Automatic Hand Gun had been displayed in a menacing manner and that the suspect had fled as a passenger in a Blue Jeep Suburban. The victims were an Adult and a Juvenile.

The suspect was stopped shortly thereafter in a taxicab in Mount Vernon. A handgun was recovered by Mount Vernon Police during the arrest.
