PELHAM, NY — On Friday, November 20th at about 2:54 p.m., a Village of Pelham Police Officer and Village of Pelham Firefighter responded to the vicinity of 1st Street and Wolfs Lane based on a report of a bear.
During a subsequent investigation, Pelham FD Captain Benkwitt and Pelham PD Officer Stapleton determined that the bear was a lost teddy bear.
The lost teddy bear appears to have been dropped and left behind. The teddy bear was transported to the firehouse where he was provided life-saving medical support.
The Village Board has decided to nickname the bear “Wolfie (the 1st).
“All residents should rest assured that even though he’s got a little extra dirt around the ears, he is otherwise in very good condition,” said a Village spokesperson.
The investigation into the teddy bear’s owner remains active. Residents are asked to email Mayor Chance Mullen with information.
“We haven’t yet found his owner but as my newly appointed special assistant, Wolfie has been busy learning the daily cadence of municipal government,” said Mayor Mullen.
Glad this is where my tax money is being spent!
LOL, very cute. I hope his owner is found real soon. It seems he is being taken care of very well.
