NEW ROCHELLE, NY — New Rochelle Police are looking for 3 suspects in an armed carjacking about midnight last night outside the Chase Bank building in downtown New Rochelle.
On May 3rd, shortly before midnight, a man told police he was exiting the parking structure at 270 North Avenue onto North Avenue in his vehicle when he was blocked by a blue sedan, occupied by the three armed men. The men exited the sedan and approached the victim’s vehicle and ordered the victim and a female passenger out of their vehicle. Two of the suspects displayed handguns. Two suspects then entered the victim’s vehicle and drove away southbound on North Avenue, with the blue sedan following close behind.
A New Rochelle Police Officer on patrol was approached by the victim, an adult male, aged 23, who stated he was just robbed at gunpoint by three Male/Hispanics, who stole his car and $3,000 in cash.
The victim further stated that he had arranged to meet a familiar party on Lawton Street to purchase a vehicle. He had just withdrawn money from the Chase Bank at 270 North Avenue,
