New Rochelle Man Arrested Following Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound at City Park

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Kareen Manns, 27, of New Rochelle, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree and Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree after shooting himself in the leg at a party in a New Rochelle park.

Kareen J. Manns had been present at a gathering at the pavilion at City Park on Saturday afternoon when he accidentally shot himself in the leg.

On May 14th, at approximately 5:24 p.m.,

Manns walked into the Emergency Room at New Rochelle Montefiore Hospital where he was treated for a gunshot wound. Hospital Staff called New Rochelle Police to advise a gunshot victim had walked in. Manns was arrested following a subsequent investigation by NRPD Detectives

The injury was non-life threatening, according to Hospital Staff.

Flowers (City) Park Pavilion is a covered outdoor picnic pavilion with 6 picnic tables and 4 stationary BBQ grills that can be rented for gatherings.
