Man Awakened by Shot Fired Through Living Room Window in New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A New Rochelle man was awakened while asleep in his living room to the sound of glass breaking by a gunshot.

New Rochelle Police Officers responded to a private residence on the 100 block of Drake Avenue at approximately 4:05 a.m. report of a gun shot on June 19.

A round was recovered, which appears to be a 9 mm. The round came through the living room window in proximity to where he was sleeping.

The victim told Talk of the Sound that around 3:20 a.m. on Drake Avenue by Fire House Station #4 at 155 Drake Avenue, a stray bullet broken into their window

“This is scary,” the victim said. “There’s dangerous armed people walking on our streets.”
