NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The City School District of New Rochelle has hired Dr. Corey W. Reynolds as the new Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources. Reynolds succeeds Ryan Reed and officially starts on Aug. 2, 2021.
“I am excited by the opportunity to join the leadership team at the City School District of New Rochelle,” Reynolds said. “It is my goal to serve all members of the New Rochelle educational community, including our students, faculty, and staff. I am honored by the trust placed in me by the New Rochelle Board of Education and Superintendent Jonathan Raymond.”
Reynolds offers well-rounded experience working in Westchester County school districts in a variety of roles. He started as an elementary school teacher in Mount Vernon and Greenburgh Central School District schools, and then rose through administrative ranks with the goal of helping students beyond the walls of his classrooms. He most recently served as the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction, and Personnel in Greenburgh. He also has held the position of Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources in the White Plains School District; was Assistant Superintendent for Supervision, Curriculum, and Instruction for Elementary Administration in the Yonkers Public Schools; and was an Assistant Principal and Principal for a decade in the Ossining Union Free School District.
“We look forward to Dr. Reynolds bringing his extensive expertise to New Rochelle,” Raymond said. “His track record demonstrates his commitment to nurturing collaborative relationships, listening, learning, and framing strategies and decisions with the best interests of our students in mind.”
Reynolds also is committed to engaging with the community. His past and current activity includes serving on the Leadership Advisory Committee for the Putnam/Northern Westchester Board of Cooperative Educational Services Center for Educational Leadership, and the City of White Plains My Brother’s Keeper Initiative Advisory Board. He currently is president of the Beta Alpha Alpha Scholarship Foundation, which has donated over $250,000 in scholarships to Black and Latino Westchester County males attending colleges across the country.
Reynolds received his bachelor’s degree in English from Seton Hall University and his master’s degree in Elementary Education from Fordham University. He received his second master’s degree from the College of New Rochelle, specializing in School Administration and Supervision, and later returned to Seton Hall for his doctoral degree in Education Leadership, Management and Policy.
