NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A man walking on Union Avenue in New Rochelle’s West End was set upon by two people armed with super soaker style water guns and robbed at water-gun-point.
The victim told police he was followed by a black SUV as he walked down the street. Two suspects, described by police as male/black, exited the vehicle and chased him to 114 Union Avenue where they tackled him and robbed him of $520, his bank card, and identification. The suspects were then picked up by the same black SUV and fled the area.
Lonnie Johnson, pictured above, is the inventor of the “Super Soaker” water gun.
The victim sustained a scraped left elbow and refused medical attention.
New Rochelle Police responded to a report of a robbery on July 1, at about 11:27 p.m.
