The City School District of New Rochelle and the Administrators & Supervisors bargaining unit have come to terms on a new agreement.
The agreement was approved by the New Rochelle Board of Education at a Special Meeting on July 13.
Under the agreement, A&S members will get across the board wage increases of 1.5% in the 2020-21 and 2021-22 school year and 1.35% in the 2022-23 school year.
The increases will be applied to the salary schedules and certain other items in the contract such as service increments, payment for summer work and the welfare fund.
Three titles which were not placed within existing salary schedules at the time of hire were incorporated into existing salary schedules as follows: The Director of Instructional Services (K-12) was placed on step 9 of the salary schedule for the Director of Special Education effective July 1, 2020; The Director of Visual and Performing Arts was placed on step 8 of the salary schedule for the Director of Special Education effective July 1, 2021; The Assistant Director of Instructional Technology was placed on step 6 of the salary schedule for the Assistant Director of Special Education effective July 1, 2020.
Certain Titles are excluded from the Bargaining Unit: Deputy Business Administrator and Director of Security.
Other charges include: Notice of Retirement-Payment for Accumulated Sick Leave Change notice date was moved back from March 1 to January 1; Provide the Superintendent of Schools with greater flexibility in scheduling four summer planning days; Permit administrators to work remotely up to twenty days per year when school is not in session at the discretion of the Superintendent of Schools; changes to APPR/Evaluation.
