NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Josiah Gray, the Dodgers’ top pitching prospect is expected to make his Major League debut on Tuesday, according to manager Dave Roberts.

His role is TBD as is the Dodgers starting pitcher. Gray might start or pitching behind an opener.

The 23-year-old was called up Monday from Triple-A Oklahoma City. He is not on the 40-man roster, so another move needs to be made to clear space.

Gray missed two months earlier this season with a right shoulder impingement

Gray, a converted Shortstop, was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds out of Le Moyne College. He was traded to Los Angeles soon after in a trade involving Yasiel Puig.

The New Rochelle native wasn’t a full-time pitcher until the summer of 2017

Gray began his professional career with the Greeneville Reds (Rookie League), Great Lakes Loons (A), Rancho Cucamonga Quakes (A+), Tulsa Drillers (AA), and Oklahoma City Dodgers (AAA).
