PORT CHESTER, NY — Two banners promoting National Night Out with the Port Chester Police Department were vandalized last night.

National Night Out is a nationwide event intended to bring the Police and Community together to meet and have a conversation.

“It’s ok if you don’t like the event or for that matter, the Police, but to try and ruin a night out for Police and Community is probably not the way to go,” said a post on the PCPD Facebook page.

“Most members of the Department are born, raised, and still live in PC and have a vested interest in the relationship with the community.”

The Department vowed not be deterred by the acts of vandalism.

National Night Out with the Port Chester Police Department is scheduled for August 3 between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. at Lyon Park.
