NEW ROCHELLE, NY — David Hauze, 27, of New Rochelle was arrested and charged by the New Rochelle Police with Assault in the 2nd degree; subsection 12 – causing injury to a person 65 years of age or older – a Class D Felony.
On November 5th, 2021 at about 8:00 p.m., a 71-year old male was walking home from the New Rochelle Train Station when he was blindsided by a closed fist punch to the face which knocked him to the ground, causing him to drop a bag of groceries he was carrying. The victim sustained a laceration and contusion to his lip from the punch. The suspect, described as a black male in his twenties, fled the area.
New Rochelle Detectives were able to develop leads and the victim was able to positively identify the suspect.
New Rochelle Detectives located and arrested the suspect on Wednesday November 17th at about 4:00 p.m.
