NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The New Rochelle Police Department was contacted by the administration of the City School District of New Rochelle on Monday to report a wi-fi hotspot in the vicinity of New Rochelle High School includes an image of a swastika.
Members of New Rochelle’s Jewish community were notified of the anti-Semitic image.
“I want to acknowledge that we were alerted to this incident by a courageous student,” said Superintendent Jonathan Raymond. “We encourage students to report any incidents they might witness to an adult, such as a teacher or school principal.”
“Our school district has a zero-tolerance policy for such acts of hate and bigotry, which are in direct opposition to the inclusive values of our school district and community.”
