NEW ROCHELLE, NY — New Rochelle Police arrested three suspects Monday afternoon as they left the Home Depot in a stolen car filled with stolen light switches.
The arrests were a coordinated response involving the Westchester County Real-Time Crime Center and New Rochelle Police.
Rahkeem Goodwin, 19, of the Bronx, NY and two 15-year-old males, one from Brooklyn, NY, and one from Staten Island, NY were charged with Grand Larceny — 3rd Degree, a D Felony and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, a D Felony
On Monday, February 14th, 2022 at about 2:30 pm, New Rochelle Police were alerted by the Westchester County Real-Time Crime Center that a stolen vehicle had just entered New Rochelle on Main Street near the Pelham Manor border. New Rochelle Police Patrol Officers canvassed the area and the vehicle was observed exiting the Home Depot parking lot on Weyman Avenue. Officers were able to approach the vehicle while it was stopped in traffic at a traffic light. All three occupants attempted to flee on foot; one was stopped immediately at the car and taken into custody; one was apprehended in the New Rochelle Diner parking lot; and the final suspect was apprehended on Main Street near Everett street by an officer on a traffic post. The stolen vehicle was found to have a large amount of merchandise from Home Depot that was eventually determined to have just been stolen.
