Mount Vernon Man Hiding in a Shed Arrested after Gas Station Robbery in Mamaroneck

VILLAGE OF MAMARONECK, NY — A man hiding in a shed surrendered after he was surrounded by Village of Mamaroneck police.

Daniel Davis, 39, of Mount Vernon was charged with Robbery — 2nd Degree, a C Felony, Grand Larceny — 4th Degree, an E Felony, Menacing — 2nd Degree, an A Misdemeanor, and Petit Larceny, an A Misdemeanor.

On March 6, at approximately 4:25 a.m., the Village of Mamaroneck PD received a call from an alarm company reporting a hold up alarm activation at Speedway Gas Station, located at 731 Mamaroneck Avenue. Village units immediately responded and located the victim, a 31-year-old male employee. The victim reported the suspect entered the store, approached him, and demanded money from the register. The suspect simultaneously motioned to his waistband to what the victim believed was a firearm. Village Officers along with officers from the Town of Mamaroneck and Larchmont Police Departments immediately began a search of the surrounding area.

At approximately 5:01 a.m., a Village Officer reported that a resident advised him that an unknown person was hiding in a shed at the rear of his property, approximately one block away from the scene of the robbery. Multiple Village Officers converged on the location and were able to take the person into custody without incident. An identification procedure was completed, positively identifying the person as the robbery suspect.
