Port Chester Man Arrested After Menacing another Port Chester Man with a Handgun

PORT CHESTER, NY — Diego Orozco, 29, of Port Chester, NY was arrested today on unspecified weapons charges.

At about 130 p.m., Port Chester Police received a walk-in complaint of menacing with a handgun. The victim and the Suspect know each other. The suspect confronted the victim over a personal matter and in the course displayed the below firearm and threatened the victim. 

The Suspect then fled in his vehicle. The victim gave a partial description of the vehicle. 

An alert was sent out for all units to be on the look for the vehicle. License Plate Information was developed from the Rye PD, and given out to the area units.

The Westchester County Real-Time Crime Center picked up the License Plate leaving the City Of White Plains, possibly entering I-287.

Rye Police with Port Chester Police located the vehicle on Exit 11 I-287 Ramp.

The vehicle was stopped in traffic on the ramp, and it was decided to box the vehicle in to avoid a possible car chase and to protect the motorists in the vehicle’s behind.

Officer’s conducted a felony stop and ordered the driver to exit the vehicle. He began to hunch down in the vehicle, either to conceal something or reach for something. After numerous commands, he exited the vehicle and was taken into custody. Further investigation, revealed a loaded 9 mm semi-automatic handgun under the driver’s seat.

Diego Orozco was currently out on bail for pending weapons charges from prior incidents. He was scheduled to be arraigned in Rye Town court.
