NEW ROCHELLE, NY (May 4, 2022) — New Rochelle Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect in a real estate security deposit scam.
On April 18, a suspect pictured in screenshots from CCTV video was captured on video, passing out flyers, for a rental
property located at 88 7th Street.
This property was not for rent, but for sale and had a real estate agent lock box affixed to the front door. The suspect was able to bypass the lock box and gain access to the home.
This suspect showed the property and collected a $2,500 security deposit from a
victim who was an interested renter. The suspect told the victim he would get her a receipt and never returned. The suspect is captured on video operating a Silver minivan with both license plates removed.
