NEW ROCHELLE, NY (May 7, 2022) — Mathis Vigneau from New Rochelle will join outstanding high school students from across the nation this summer to take part in a unique academic and career-oriented development experience, Envision’s National Youth Leadership Forum: Engineering at Rice University in Houston, Texas

The NYLF Engineering is one of the Envision by WorldStrides family of programs that enable students to explore their interests and experience learning beyond the classroom.

Mathis Vigneau was born in Switzerland and has lived and studied in five different countries prior to arriving to the US in April 2021. He currently attends the French-American School of New York and has a great love for science and mathematics. Outside of the classroom, he is active in sports and competes in swimming at the Westchester Aquatics Club. Mathis also loves performing arts. He started playing the piano at the age of four and has a passion for theatre. Besides numerous roles in school plays, Mathis recently got casted for a leading role in the children’s series Go Iguanas! on Premiere+ and played a background role in the upcoming Netflix movie “Hustle” with Adam Sandler. His intellectual curiosity and eagerness to learn more about engineering led him to apply for the NYLF. Mathis would like to study engineering in college and looks forward to exploring his interests further with other youth leaders.

“As an alumna of Envision myself, I am excited for Mathis to meet, work, and collaborate with other high-aspiring students from across the country and the globe,” said Amanda Freitag Thomas, SVP for Envision. “Hands down, my favorite part of attending an Envision program was being with motivated students in an environment designed to help us challenge our assumptions, meet new people, and grow. Creating that same learning environment is a central focus for all of our programs. At the ‘National Youth Leadership Forum: Engineering’ students build the confidence and skills needed to excel at college and in the workplace. They learn how to adapt to and communicate in new situations, to new challenges, and with new people, which, given how rapidly the world is changing due to technology and innovation, are essential skills for success.”
