Bronx Man Arrested Fleeing in Taxi Following Stabbing in Downtown New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE, NY (October 25, 2022) — A restaurant worker was hospitalized after he was stabbed in the neck on Monday evening at the Kennedy Fried Chicken located at 372 North Avenue.

Arrest and charges:

Avery L. Bady, 49, of the Bronx, NY.

  • Assault – 1st, a B Felony
  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon – 4th, an A Misdemeanor

Police narrative:

On Monday October 24th, 2022, at about 9:25pm, New Rochelle Police Officers responded to restaurant in the 300 block of North Ave on a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, New Rochelle Officers encountered the victim, a 38-year-old male employee of the restaurant, who had a serious laceration across his neck. He was taken to a local area hospital and was later listed as being in stable condition. Further investigation revealed that the suspect left in a taxicab. Police were able to locate and apprehend the suspect shortly thereafter in the taxicab at North Avenue and the Boulevard.
