NEW ROCHELLE, NY (December 6, 2022) — Two Virginia women driving a stolen vehicle and transporting an unlicensed handgun were flagged by a License Plate Reader upon entering New Rochelle and subsequently arrested at a gas station across from the New Rochelle Diner / Home Depot.
Police narrative: On December 3rd, 2022, at about 1:58pm, the Westchester County Police Real Time Crime Center notified New Rochelle Police that a possible stolen vehicle had entered the city in the vicinity of Main Street and I-95. New Rochelle Police canvassed the area and located the vehicle in the gas station at 819 Main Street. Officers observed two female occupants in the vehicle and approached to investigate. After a brief investigation, the occupants were both arrested. An unlicensed 9mm handgun was also found on one of the occupants. They were taken into custody without incident.
