Connecticut man arrested in Rye for DWI with 2X BAC

RYE, NY (December 7, 2022) — New York State Police arrested a Connecticut man for DWI following a traffic stop on I-287 in Rye, NY.

Arrests & Charges:

  • Luis A. Perez Paredes, 36, of New Fairfield, CT
  • Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated; an Unclassified Misdemeanor

Police narrative: On December 3, 2022, at approximately 9:40 p.m., New York State Police stopped a vehicle on I-287 in the town of Rye for a vehicle and traffic violation. The driver of the vehicle, Luis A. Perez Paredes, 36, of New Fairfield, CT, was found to be intoxicated. He was taken into custody, transported and processed at SP Tarrytown where his blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.20%.

Perez Paredes was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated; an Unclassified Misdemeanor. He was turned over to a sober third party and released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Rye Court on January 12, 2023, at 7:00 p.m.
