WHITE PLAINS, NY (December 19, 2022) — As was widely expected, just four weeks after Noam Bramson made an unexpected announcement that he will not seek another term as New Rochelle Mayor, Westchester County District Attorney Mimi Rocah announced that her office will not pursue criminal charges against Bramson.
The criminal investigation came as the result of an ethics complaint filed by Robert Cox on March 20, 2022. Cox’s investigation and analysis of the resulting transcripts (“The Bramson Transcripts”) was carefully reviewed by prosecutors, sources say.
The Noam Bramson Ethics Transcripts: Final Summary with All Raw Transcripts
“The Westchester County District Attorney’s Office conducted a review of New Rochelle Mayor Noam Bramson’s conduct that was the subject of the City of New Rochelle Ethics Board’s June 16, 2022 Advisory Opinion,” said Rocah.
Bramson said he was “pleased, but not surprised, by the DA’s determination.”
“Specifically, we reviewed the testimony of all witnesses who appeared before the Board, supporting documents, and performed an analysis of the Charter and applicable criminal statutes.”
“The sole purpose of our review was to determine if it was appropriate to bring criminal charges against the Mayor for this conduct, and we have concluded that there is legally insufficient evidence to support criminal charges. Our review is now concluded.”
