Three Appointed as Replacements for Fired New Rochelle Muncipal Housing Authority Commissioners

NEW ROCHELLE, NY (January 9, 2023) —City Manager Kathleen Gill has filled three of the five open board seats on the New Rochelle Muncipal Housing Authority Board.

The appointment of the three new Commissioners comes less than two weeks after the Friday Morning Massacre. On December 30, 2022, outgoing City Manager Charles B. Strome fired the 5 appointed Commissioners in response to a letter from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development which was sharply critical of the NRMHA Board.

The new Commissioners will be officially sworn in at a date to be determined by the City Clerk. Two more board seats are expected to be filled in coming days.

Dale Burnett is an accomplished real estate investment professional with decades of professional experience. He is co-founder and & Managing Director, Investments at BIG (Basis Investment Group) Equity Investors LLC, an institutional commercial real estate private equity firm based in New York City. According to his company profile. Burnett previously held senior investment positions at Assurant, AIG Global Real Estate Investment. He was a consultant to Blackstone Real Estate Group. He worked at Ernst & Young and Merrill Lynch. He has served on the New York Business Development Corporation and New York State Real Estate Board. He has a degree in Finance from Boston University and an MBA from Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business. Dale Burnett resides in New Rochelle, New York with his wife and three daughters. He was appointed to the New Rochelle African American Advisory Committee in 2020.

Jackie Agudelo is a social worker and Founder and Executive Director of United Community Center of Westchester based in New Rochelle, NY. For 17 years, the UCCW has provided for legal and immigration assistance, health care, education, food refuge and emergency assistance to those in need for the last 17 years. She received a Humanitarian Award from the New Rochelle Chamber of Commerce in 2013.

Before she started UCCW, Agudelo was a consultant for the Westchester Department of Health, working as a facilitator helping people to enroll into free or affordable health insurance. She worked for over seven years as a Social Worker for the Hispanic Resource Center of Larchmont and Mamaroneck.

Born in Dominican Republic, Agudelo attended the Universidad Autonoma in Santo Domingo then migrated to Westchester County in 1990 to live permanently with her parents. She lives in White Plains, NY with her three children.

J. Josiah Mott (also Jonathon J. Mott) is the Marketing Director & Production Director of Generations Church (formerly Family Christian Center). He earned a business degree from Alliance University (formerly Nyack College).

In addition to working the past decade at Generations Church, he recently started up two companies, Kingdom Community Consultants, a consulting business that produces community events and programs that further the goals of the local city government and Rocket DMSS, a digital marketing agency

In 2008, he founded Korban CDC, a tax-exempt organization. He is listed as Director of Community Outreach on his LinkedIN profile. According to tax records, Korban CDC is a Community Center non-profit focused on Neighborhood Development and Improvement. The Department of State Process Agent for Korban CDC is Bishop Ray Mott, lead pastor of Generations Church (formerly Family Christian Center), J. Josiah Mott’s father.

In a past filing, Korban says it “actively pursues and implements programs that support and provide for the varied needs of the community. A few of Korban’s efforts include Economic Empowerment seminars, and annual Coat Drive and Holiday dinners that target the elderly and handicapped… Korban’s plan for property is “to restore places to fully serve the community”…Korban “partners with (Family Christian Center) to provide a safe place for social gatherings. Moving forward, we are exploring venues that will enable Korban to provide additional services for the community, such as After School programs, Health & Wellness programs, Career Counseling Services and a variety of other services.”
