Kwamain Dixon Announces Candidacy for New Rochelle Democratic Party Nomination for City Council District 3

NEW ROCHELLE, NY (January 29, 2023) — Kwamain Dixon has announced his candidacy to be the New Rochelle Democratic Party nominee for City Council District 3.

Dixon, a resident of District 3 for going on five decades, is a well-known community advocate who describes himself as “boots on the ground” when it comes to dealing with issues that affect all District 3 residents.

Dixon has been appointed and served on numerous municipal committees, among them:

  • President, Lincoln Attendance Zone
  • PTSA.
  • Member, City of New Rochelle African American Advisory Board
  • Past Member, Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) Committee
  • Past Member, City of New Rochelle Police Review Committee

Dixon has been actively engaged serving the community for many years:

  • Volunteered to distribute food, groceries and sundries to families in need during the pandemic (New Rochelle Muncipal Housing Authority, HOPE Community Services, WestCOP)
  • Advocated for City Park Residents to receive support from breakfast and lunch program during the pandemic
  • Advocated for community residents when MacQuesten Development left an abandoned build on the former Hartley Houses property for 3 years
  • Advocate for Heritage Homes

Dixon was the 2021 Recipient of the Napoleon Holmes Community Service Award (WestCOP)

“I am running with the hopes of bringing District 3 together as one,” said Dixon. “I hope we can unite to advocate, and fight together for the things we agree on collectively.”

“I know we can come up with sensible and responsible solutions to the issues that we disagree on. I know we can achieve this by having hard conversations while being honest and respectful to each other.”

Dixon says he has no political agenda.

“I am not a politician. I have a ‘We the People’ agenda. The people of District 3 have been ignored for far too long now, and it’s time for our voices to be heard. I am hopeful with your support we can finally raise our voices together in harmony and create the change we desire and progress together we are entitled to this as Residents of New Rochelle’s District 3”

Kwamain Dixon is a 47-year-old father of 3 and proud grandfather.
