Beer Bottles Lead to Arrest of CT Woman on I-95 in Mamaroneck for DWI with 2.5X BAC

MAMARONECK, NY (April 11, 2023) — A Connecticut woman blew a .21% Blood Alcohol Content level, almost three times the legal limit. Her arrest came after state police observed beer bottles strewn about near her vehicle parked on the shoulder of the New York State Thruway.

Police narrative: On April 8, 2023, at approximately 1:20 AM., State Police observed a vehicle stopped on the shoulder of I-95 in the town of Mamaroneck, with several beer bottles on the ground. When Troopers approached the vehicle, the operator began to drive away. Troopers returned to the patrol vehicle and initiated a traffic stop at which time the driver pulled over. Upon interviewing the driver, open containers of alcohol were observed inside the vehicle. The driver was found to be intoxicated.

She was taken into custody, transported, and processed at SP New Rochelle where her blood alcohol content was determined to be .21%

Arrest & Charges:

Christina Diaz, 41, of Bridgeport, CT

  • Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated; an Unclassified Misdemeanor
  • Several vehicle and traffic violations

Diaz was turned over to a sober third party and released on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Mamaroneck Court on May 8, 2023 at 6:00 PM.
