NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. — The New Rochelle School District has appointed Joy Myke as its new School Business Administrator, effective May 15.
Ms. Myke will report to Interim Assistant Superintendent of Business Carlos X. Leal and will oversee the district’s financial operations, including budget development and management, capital projects, grants and special aid funds.
Ms. Myke has 13 years of experience in the field of school finance and has worked for several school districts in Westchester County. She most recently served as the Assistant Superintendent for Business for the Public Schools of the Tarrytowns, where she managed a budget of more than $100 million.
She has also been the Business Administrator for the Lakeland Central School District, the Assistant Director of Business Affairs at Putnam | Northern Westchester BOCES and the Business Administrator for the Peekskill City School District.
Ms. Myke holds two bachelor’s degrees in business administration and computer information systems from Goldey-Beacom College in Wilmington, Delaware. She also has a master’s degree in education with a concentration in school leadership and a certificate of advanced study in school district business leadership from SUNY New Paltz.
“I am very excited to join the leadership team in New Rochelle and look forward to partnering with the community to support student success,” Ms. Myke said in a statement.
The Board of Education approved Ms. Myke’s appointment at its meeting on Tuesday night.
