WHITE PLAINS, NY (May 13, 2023) — Wendy and Neil Sandler of Mamaroneck were among the honorees at the UJA Westchester Celebration on Wednesday, May 10. The event celebrated the achievements and contributions of UJA-Federation of New York, the largest local philanthropy in the world.
The Sandlers received the Community Leadership Award for their commitment and generosity to UJA and its network of hundreds of nonprofits that serve millions of people in need in New York, Israel and around the world. The Sandlers have been involved with UJA for more than two decades, supporting various causes such as education, health care, social services and Jewish identity.
Wendy Sandler is currently involved with UJA through the Nedivot Impact Philanthropy group and serves as the King David Society (KDS) chair of UJA Women. She is also a gallery educator at the Museum of Jewish Heritage in New York City, where she teaches school groups about the lessons of the Holocaust. She is training to become a member of the Witness to History Speakers Bureau at Facing History & Ourselves, where she will share her mother’s Holocaust story of survival with middle and high school students.
Neil Sandler is the chair of UJA’s Network Department and a member of the Executive Committee. He previously served on the Board of Directors, Network Cabinet, and Network Planning and Allocations Committee. He was also deeply involved with Westchester Jewish Community Services, completing his term as president in 2019 after serving as treasurer and member of several committees. He has been the chair of the Larchmont Temple investment committee for over 15 years.
Neil Sandler has a professional background in investing in and financing healthcare companies, spanning over 35 years. He was a founder/CEO of ClearPath Development Co., which managed vaccine development investments. He was also a founder/general partner of Symphony Capital, which managed biopharmaceutical investments.
The Sandlers are also active members of Larchmont Temple and Temple Har Shalom in Park City, Utah. They have two children.
The event also honored Michelle Dinenberg and Randi Rosenblatt of Chappaqua with the Young Leadership Award for their dedication and involvement in shaping the Jewish future. Both women have taken on leadership roles in UJA’s Women’s Philanthropy division and have participated in various initiatives and missions to support UJA’s mission.
The UJA-Federation of New York works with a network of hundreds of nonprofits.
