NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (June 1, 2023) — The New Rochelle Public Library has announced its lineup of events for June 2023. The events will take place at the library’s location at 1 Library Plaza in New Rochelle.
The month kicks off with the Celebrating Juneteenth Art Exhibit, which will run from Monday, June 5 to Friday, June 23 in the Lumen Winter Art Gallery. Visitors can also participate in Chair Yoga on Mondays and Wednesdays throughout the month.
Adult singers can join the “Sing Your Heart Out” Workshop on Mondays and Saturdays, with a final performance scheduled for Saturday, July 15. Registration is requested for this event.
The library will also host an English Conversation Club on Mondays in June, as well as a Juneteenth Celebration: “History Out Loud with Color” Art Workshop on Thursday, June 8. Registration is requested for this event.
NRPL Film Series: Bros on Tuesday, June 13 2023 5:00 – 7:30 pm. Registration is requested.
Other events include a Show Your PRIDE Art Workshop on Monday, June 12 and a Women and Money Roundtable on Wednesday, June 14. Registration is required for both events.
The library will also offer virtual programming, including Safe/Haven: Gay Life in 1950s Cherry Grove on Wednesday, June 14. Registration is required for this event.
The Juneteenth Celebration continues with an African Drumming Workshop and Performance on Thursday, June 15. Registration is requested for both events.
Families can enjoy A Rainbow of Reading with Drag Story Hour on Saturday, June 17 and a Celebrating Juneteenth: Global Jazz Community All-Star Women Band Concert later that day. Registration is requested for the concert.
The Brown Bag Book Club will meet on Tuesday, June 20 to discuss Manhattan Transfer by John Dos Passos. The library will also offer FREE Notary Public Services on Thursday, June 22.
The month wraps up with the “All Together Now” Summer Reading Kickoff Party! on Saturday, June 24. Registration is requested
Finally, the Jules Bauer Memorial Award Show will run from Monday, June 26 to Friday July 21 in the Lumen Winter Art Gallery. Evening Yoga will also be offered on Monday, June 26 with registration requested.
