RYE, NY (May 25, 2023) — Rye police responded to a variety of incidents in the city recently. These included commercial alarms at locations such as 2 Rectory Street and 59 Purchase Street, as well as a fire alarm at 24 Overhill Avenue. Other alarms were reported at residential locations including 40 Walker Avenue and 346 Milton Road.
There was a larceny of a catalytic convertor from a vehicle parked in the lot of 555 Theodore Fremd Ave. The larceny took place sometime between May 19 and May 24.
In addition to alarms, police also responded to animal incidents including one on Halsted Place and another involving an animal struck by a vehicle on Boston Post Road/Park Avenue. Buoy maintenance was also reported at coordinates 40.9852475~-73.6609684.
Code violations were reported for construction on Orchard Avenue/Chestnut Street and for solicitors at locations including Milton Road/Intervale Place and York Avenue/Henry Street. Damage to property was reported at 141 Oakland Beach Avenue and 736 Forest Avenue.
Police also responded to disabled vehicles on Purchase Street and Playland Parkway/Playland Access Drive, as well as a domestic dispute on Bradford Avenue. Hazardous conditions were reported on Forest Avenue/Rockridge Road and Milton Road.
Illegally parked vehicles were reported on Beck Avenue/Forest Avenue. Larceny/theft was reported at locations including 555 Theodore Fremd Avenue and 3 Parsons Street. Motor vehicle accidents were reported at locations including Purdy Avenue/1st Street and Boston Post Road/Purdy Avenue.
Noise complaints were reported at locations including Oakland Beach Avenue/Milton Road and Cornell Place/Waters Edge. Recovered property was reported on McCullough Place and Parsons Street/Boston Post Road. Repossession of vehicles was reported on McCullough Place.
Road related incidents were reported on Playland Access Drive/Theall Road. Rules of the road were enforced at locations including Boston Post Road/Central Avenue and Forest Avenue/Hewlett Avenue. Suspicious conditions were reported at locations including Station Plaza/McCullough Place and Nursery Lane.
Vessel boardings were reported at 650 Milton Road.
