CT Man Arrested in Rye After Stealing Eggs, Wine and Ground Beef

RYE, NY (May 31, 2023) — A Connecticut man was arrested on charges of burglary and larceny after unlawfully entering an apartment in Rye and stealing “consumables”. The incident occurred around 9:40 pm on Monday, May 29, 2023.

Arrest & Charges

  • Andrew J. Mozer, 31, of Naugatuck, Connecticut
  • 1 x Burglary — 2, a class “C” felony
  • 3 x Petit Larceny, a class “A” misdemeanor

According to police, Mozer accessed an open apartment window from one of the fire escapes of the Highland Hall Apartments located at 131 Purchase Street. He then reportedly entered the apartment without permission and stole wine, eggs, and ground beef.

Both residents were home during the incident.

The suspect was arrested and transported to the City of Rye Police Headquarters for processing. He was arraigned in Rye City Court where he was released on $500 cash bail.
