New York State Thruway Authority Announces Virtual Public Hearing on Proposed Toll Adjustments 6/5/23

ALBANY, NY (May 31, 2023) — The New York State Thruway Authority Board of Directors will hold a virtual public hearing on Monday, June 5, 2023 from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. as part of the public toll adjustment process on the New York State Thruway system. The proposed financial plan includes two system-wide toll rate adjustments for 2024 and 2027.

Members of the public may sign up in advance to provide comments by emailing public.info@thruway.ny.gov or calling 518-471-5300. The public toll adjustment process will include receiving and considering public comments, and ultimately final consideration by the Thruway Authority Board of Directors within the next year.

The proposed toll adjustments include a five percent increase in base NY E-ZPass rates on Jan. 1, 2024 and Jan. 1, 2027. This would be the first toll adjustment for system-wide NY E-ZPass customers since 2010. Tolls on the Gov. Mario M. Cuomo Bridge will remain frozen through 2023 and will see $0.50 annual increases to the base NY E-ZPass toll rates beginning on January 1, 2024.

  • Tolls on the Gov. Mario M. Cuomo Bridge
  • Tolls remain frozen through 2023
  • Beginning on January 1, 2024, provide $0.50 annual increases to the base NY E-ZPass toll rates on the GMMCB through 2027.
  • Continue GMMCB Commuter Discount Plan (40% Discount) and INCREASE Westchester and Rockland Resident Discount Plan for the GMMCB (from 17% to a 20% discount).
