Rye Police Incidents: Larceny, Burglary and Arrests

RYE, NY (June 2, 2023) — The Rye Police Department has reported a series of incidents that occurred between May 25 and June 1, 2023. Among them were larceny from a motor vehicle on May 25, where a purse was taken from a vehicle parked in the resident’s driveway. A burglary was also reported at Highland Hall Apartments on May 29.

In the Highland Hall incident, a Connecticut man was arrested in Rye after stealing eggs, wine and ground beef .

The police also responded to multiple alarms, both commercial and residential, as well as assisting other police departments and the Rye Fire Department.

Other incidents reported by the Rye police during this period include code violations for noise and solicitors, damage to property, illegally parked vehicles, juvenile incidents and theft. There were also several motor vehicle accidents, including hit-and-runs and property damage as well as several vessel boardings.

The Rye police continue to work to ensure the safety of the community and respond to incidents as they occur.
