NEW ROCHELLE, NY (June 8, 2023) — The Westchester County Democratic Committee filed their 2023 January Periodic campaign finance disclosure form which covers the second half of 2022. The filing was made yesterday, about 6 months after the deadline to file.

The WCDC has come under fire for failing to file its required 32-Day Primary campaign finance disclosure form which was due on May 26, 2023.

So, how is filing a previously unreported series of monetary contributions from 2022 corrective to questions about dark money being funneled through the WCDC to a local primary campaign? It’s not.

WCDC Chair Suzanne Berger has, so far, claimed not to know the committee is required to file on the same schedule as any candidate they support despite clear and unequivocal statements contained in the New York State Board of Elections Handbook and confirmation from the New York State Board of Elections.

The WCDC has also, finally, disclosed the identity of the WCDC Treasurer: Catherine Wilson.

In her 32-Day Primary campaign finance disclosure form, Yadira Ramos-Herbert disclosed a $60,000 direct transfer from the WCDC which Berger has refused to acknowledge or explain.

The belated 2022 disclosures, filed yesterday afternoon, show $31,935 in monetary contributions, mostly small amounts between $100 and $500. There were four contribution of $1,100 and one for $2,000. There were 7 direct transfers totaling $12,240, the largest being $8,100 from the New York State Democratic Party. Total revenue was $44,175.

There were 59 Expenditures and Payments, totaling $59,731. The largest expense was $13,117 paid to Mullino’s at Lake Annual, a party fundraising event.

The WCDC operated at a loss of $15,556 during the period.
