PELHAM MANOR, NY (August 12, 2023) — The Pelham Manor Board of Trustees swore in Firefighter Steven Costa as Fire Captain on July 10.
Mayor Jennifer Lapey administered the oath of office. Trustee and Fire Commissioner Timothy Case highlighted the camaraderie in the PMFD department and its effective inter-municipal cooperation.
Captain Costa graduated from PMHS and previously worked in construction as a heavy equipment, highway and utility worker. He began his career in Pelham Manor as a volunteer firefighter in 2007 and was hired as a career firefighter in 2009. Captain Costa actively pursues professional training and educational opportunities. He currently holds a National Fire Officer 1 Certification and Electrical Certifications 1 and 2. In January 2024, Captain Costa will attend First Line Officer School in New York City.
