Police Arrest New Rochelle Man Who Displayed Handgun at Smoke Shop

NEW ROCHELLE, NY (January 25, 2024) — A New Rochelle man was arrested Tuesday after he brandished a 9mm handgun at a store on Sickles Avenue, police say.

On January 23rd. 2024, at about 5:59 pm, New Rochelle Police responded to Broccoli Smoke Shop at 394 North Avenue on a report of a menacing with a handgun. Upon arrival the suspect had already fled the scene.

At about 7:19 pm, Police received a call that the suspect returned. Police responded back and were able to arrest the suspect without incident.

The suspect was found to be in possession of a small silver 9mm handgun.

The incident started as a dispute between the suspect and the business owner.

Arrest & Charges:

Isaiah Sutton, 21, of New Rochelle, NY.

  • Menacing – 2 with a weapon, a B Felony
  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon – 2, a C Felony

UPDATE: CBS2 reports bail set at $10,000.
