New Jersey Pair Caught Greenhanded with Stolen Goods from Mamaroneck Garden Center

MAMARONECK, NY (July 23, 2024) — On Sunday, July 7, 2024, at approximately 09:08 am, the Village of Mamaroneck Police Department received a call from a local business owner who reported that someone entered and burglarized his store, “Mangone’s Garden Center” located at 1427 East Boston Post Road in the Village of Mamaroneck.

The business owner reported over $10,000 in plants, trees, and landscaping materials were stolen during the burglary.

Officers and Detectives responded to the scene and initiated an investigation.

During the investigation, several leads were developed using technology, video surveillance, and evidence left at the scene. A suspect was identified, and a surveillance operation was initiated at the suspect’s home in New Jersey, involving officers from the Summit Police Department and detectives from the Village of Mamaroneck Police Department. Two suspects were observed selling property from the burglary at Mangones, along withstolen proceeds from other burglaries in New Jersey. The suspects were apprehended and placed under arrest for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in New Jersey and being a Fugitive from Justice in New York. Both defendants were arraigned and remanded to the Union County Jail in Elizabeth, New Jersey, awaiting extradition to New York.

On Friday, July 19, detectives from the Village of Mamaroneck Police Department arrested James E. Kralovich, a 39-year-old male, and Olivia R. Barbarito a 29-year-old female, both from Summit, New Jersey. The defendants waived extradition and were brought to New York to answer criminal charges. Both were charged with Burglary in the Third Degree, a Class D Felony, Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, a Class D Felony, and Conspiracy in the Fifth Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor. They were arraigned in the Village of Mamaroneck Court and released on their own recognizance with a future court date
