The New Rochelle Police Department is actively investigating a motor vehicle pedestrian accident at the intersection of North Ave and Lockwood Ave that occurred yesterday at 4:12 PM. A female, pedestrian was fatally struck while crossing North Avenue. New Rochelle Police and Fire Department immediately responded. The unidentified woman was transported to Montefiore Emergency Room where she was pronounced dead.
All traffic on North Ave was detoured while the accident was investigated by the New Rochelle Police Department Traffic Unit.
The driver of the utility box truck provided a statement and was released.
