Woman Screams and Scares Off Armed Robber in New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE, NY (October 13, 2024) — On October 9th, 2024, at about 7:00 pm, New Rochelle Police Officers responded to a report of an attempted robbery in the 100 block of Franklin Avenue.

The victim, a 66-year-old female resident, reported that a Hispanic male approached her on foot, displayed a silver handgun, and demanded her belongings. In response, the victim began to scream, causing the suspect to flee the scene. The suspect was last seen running into the Harbor House property, where the victim lost sight of him.

Fortunately, the victim was not injured and retained all her property. Officers canvassed the area but did not locate the suspect.

UPDATE (10/24/2024): On October 17th, 2024, New Rochelle Detectives were able to make an arrest on a robbery of October 9th, 2024.
