RYE, NY (October 16, 2024) — A 66-year-old Rye woman was arrested after accepting a package containing 180 Carisoprodol (SOMA) pills at the Rye Post Office located at 41 Purdy Avenue in the City of Rye, New York.
Carisoprodol, a tranquilizer, is a Schedule IV of the Controlled Substances Act and requires a prescription from a licensed physician.
The woman was arrested after Rye Detectives opened an investigation into the woman receiving controlled substances through the mail without a prescription.
