The vote occurred at the Board of Trustees Annual Organizational Meeting.

Statement from Chuck Strome
Good morning, Mayor, and Board of Trustees.
First of all, thank you Mayor for your kind words last night. It is appreciated.
I am writing to you all to thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve the Village of Mamaroneck as Interim Village Manager over the past 9 months or so. Although due to some very unfortunate circumstances the job ended up being closer to full-time and for a longer period of time than we originally anticipated. I am thankful I had the opportunity to assist.
There is a lot of work to be done in the Village but from my perspective you have excellent staff members in place to work with the new Village Manager to accomplish what needs to be done. It should be pointed out that during the majority of my time here, the Village has been operating without a full-time Clerk/Treasurer (due to an illness), without an Assistant Village Manager (due to Dan SarnoF’s unfortunate passing) and significant staffing issues and shortages in the Building Department. I have to commend the staff. They have really worked hard to pick up the work created by those vacancies. I truly enjoyed working with them.
I would also like to commend the Board of Trustees on your choice for Village Manager.
For obvious reasons, I was not involved in the recruitment process, but I am very pleased you have appointed Kathleen Gill as the Village’s next Village Manager. I have worked with Kathleen in New Rochelle for more than 20 years, including 5+ years when she served as my Deputy/Chief of Staff. She is clearly qualified for the position here and her experience in New Rochelle includes working on many of the issues the Village will be facing, especially flooding, affordable housing and initiating a comprehensive budget process. With Kathleen as Village Manager and the existing staff you have in place as well as the new staff members she will hire, the Village is poised to move in a positive direction.
As I have told most of you, I would be happy to help out in any way that I can while the new Manager gets started until the time the Village staff is back to full force. You all know where to find me.
Thank you again.
